[section_title title=”Packaging & Closer Look”]Â Packaging & Closer Look
Let’s start off the review with a look at the packaging followed by the headphones themselves.
Starting at the front of the box you can see we have a clean black/grey design, but I do like the touches of colour which make the box look a lot more interesting. The main feature talk we have is of course about the Bluetooth connectivity and the long battery life.
The side of the box gives us some specifications which are also on the previous page if you fancy a look over them.
The rear of the box is more of the same that we saw on the front but with more details about the ergonomic features and also a package contents rundown.
Here is said contents, we have the headphones themselves, a user manual and also our cables which are an Aux cable for audio input and a micro USB cable for charging.
As you can see the headphones themselves are very simplistic in design and look very stealthy from this angle, they are also very skinny looking!
Starting from the top down you can see we have a pleather headband which looks nice and is generously padded considering the overall profile of the headphones.
The headband adjusters are metal which is a nice touch, everything is all rather svelte and flexible but it doesn’t feel flimsy.
The ear cups feature a nicely sized LUXA2 logo but otherwise lo0k very understated.
The ear cups have a fairly nice amount of padding for lightweight headphones, but they are definitely not what I would call over ear! They cover more than an on-ear headphone and aren’t uncomfortable, but I wouldn’t call them over the ear personally.
The bottoms of the ear cups feature all the control buttons and also the Aux and USB in ports, they are nicely spaced out and easy to press so thumbs up there.
Overall I quite like the design of the Lavi Ds, it is clean and understated and although they are of a lightweight flexible construction they don’t feel flimsy or like they are about to break. Personally though I’ve got to say the ear cups aren’t big enough as they don’t sit over my (large) ears fully and whilst they are not uncomfortable ultimately I’ve got to criticise the over ear branding as a misnomer.
