Getting the R1 Universal out of the box and there is no denying it is a looker and whether you like it or not it will definitely grab your attention. Myself, I like the look of it very much. Cryrorig did a very good job of coordinating the colours, the grey fans on top of the fine array that is encased in a white shroud looks nice with the black fin array.
Depending how you look at the cooler or install it the XT140 fan may be on display, notice the unique design on the fins where the base and the tips are a gloss black and the middle is grey. There is a small CR logo featured in the middle with the colour ring around it! If this is how the R1 universal is on display in your case it is sure to grab attention.
Taking a better look from the top down and this will be what will be on display in a lot of standard cases that have windowed side panels on them.
Looking from the side we can notice the difference in thickness of the fans and we can see how they are attached to the white shroud that is around the fin arrays.
Around to the back of the cooler and we can get a better look at the black fin array.
As mentioned the R1 universal features 7 x heatpipes that are spread out across each side of the baseplate.
For the baseplate, Cryorig have gone with a more brushed aluminium look than that of a lot of companies who like to give it a mirror finish,
