Setup
As with most of these wireless Bluetooth speakers that can either make use of a Bluetooth connection or they can use a standard 3.5mm auxiliary jack if need be. To make use of the 3.5mm jack you would simply plug the cable into the speaker and then into the headphone jack on your preferred mobile device and you will be good to go. To use the Bluetooth function, turn the speaker on, hit the Bluetooth button and wait for the speaker to go into pairing mode then search for it from your mobile device and connect as per normal.
Audio Quality
The audio quality of the ECOXBT is excellent for what it is and considering the main focus of the speaker is on its waterproof nature, that is amazing to see, or hear I should say. Overall, the sound is enough to fill a room or a decent sized area outdoors, campsite, field, park or where ever you may find yourself. The quality of sound is good at most volumes and as with most speakers when you put it on 100% volume there will be a bit of distortion, but it is not that bad and wasn’t always noticeable depending on the type of music being listened to.
The overall audio quality fared well, highs were high enough and while there wasn’t a massive amount of bass from the unit, the bass was more than sufficient given what the ECOXBT is designed for. The ECOXBT offers a good audio experience for the normal everyday user that is not looking for anything too spectacular but still wants an enjoyable experience.
Battery Life
The ECOXBT battery is rated for 10+ hours and it has no problem living up to this. During my testing, I fully charged up the ECOXBT three times and every time the battery lasted between 12-14hrs depending on how loud the speaker was. When it comes to Bluetooth speakers, battery life is normally rated based on the speaker being used between 80-100% of its full volume, which, in most cases, gives users a good idea of what to expect. The ECOXBT’s battery should allow it to last a full day in most cases, which should be more than sufficient for the average user looking to enjoy some music on their next outdoor adventure.
