[section_title title=”Closer Look”]Closer Look
Lets take a closer look at the FK1.
Starting off at the front we can see the FK1 sports a very familiar shape, giving off the classic intellimouse vibe. Like the Logitech right handed palm grip there is a reason this same basic design lives on and that is people love it and it is perfect for claw grippers. The only real styling cue per say is the yellow scroll wheel which I think is a nice contrast with the body, we don’t see enough yellow in PC peripherals in my opinion.
The right hand side is equally simple, with our two thumb buttons being the only real features. What you can also see though is how far the mouse buttons raise away from the body at the front which suggests we should have some nice feedback from the keys.
Taking a profile view we can see the ambidextrous shape clearly, though you can tell it has slightly wider hips than earlier models. We also have a nice subtle Zowie logo present in what is otherwise a very stealthy aesthetic.
Here we have the left side of the mouse, identical to the right hand side.
Taking a look at the bottom of the FK1 one our eyes are drawn to the main attraction, the Avago 3310 sensor that is the heart of this mouse. The other point of note is the yellow button which is our DPI changer.
Finally for our closer look we’ll take a look at the connector, and it is a custom one with a gold plated connector which is always a nice touch. As ever I do miss it when cables aren’t braided, what I will say though is that the cable on the FK1 seems very soft and resilient to kinking unlike mouse other cables so you can stuff it in a bag to go to a LAN and it wont kink, which is the idea I imagine; either way it’s awesome.
So, the FK1 features a really stealthy design and the uninitiated could be forgiven for not assuming much of it due to that, so lets see how it makes up for that on the next page.
