[section_title title=”Conclusion”] Conclusion

So, this new speaker from Luxa 2 certainly boasts a lot of interesting design features, but does it provide the whole package?

Starting off with the aesthetics I think Luxa 2 have done very well here, the brushed aluminum ring looks very pleasant against the black fabric and the metallic plastic body looks about as nice as you can expect plastic to as well. All in all its a clean look like most Luxa 2 products; it looks at home wherever you put it down.

Onto the performance and overall I’d say the 360 is a reasonable package. The drivers are neutral and pleasantly crisp, however as I have already mentioned they don’t offer much bass so if you like electronic music in general the 360 may leave something to be desired when it comes to bass. Throughout the review I have referenced the excellent Jazooli Reverb I tested recently, and Luxa 2 themselves sell what looks to be that same speaker in the form of the Groovy Wireless, so if its low end punch you want I might look to that as an alternative for the 360.

When it comes to features the 360 did well overall, the range was perfectly adequate and the battery life was more than reasonable for the form factor. The main letdown was the very poor phone call quality but as I previously mentioned I don’t consider that a selling point, and it works enough to tell someone to phone you back at least.

Finally in terms of value I would say the 360 is reasonable if the cool wall mounting feature is of use to you, otherwise I wouldn’t say it was amazing value for money. Compared to its range mate the Groovy Wireless which appears to be the same design as the excellent Jazooli Reverb, and retails for the same $49.99, I would say the 360 is a touch too expensive.

Overall though I still have no problem giving the GroovyR 360 from Luxa 2 a Silver award thanks to its nice clean design and the thought that has gone into the wall mount feature.

I would like to thank Luxa 2 for sending us this sample and I hope to see more from them in the future.

Summary

The 360 is a bit of niche product, by no means bad but it is let down by the lack off low end punch and the Hands-Free implementation is woeful. Still, its a unique design and depending on your music taste the sound is pretty good.
